ABOUT ME

Welcome! Yvonne here. I’m a passionate actor, writer, and director driven by the belief that film and theater have the power to educate, inspire, and transform. Born in Pennsylvania and raised in the vibrant neighborhoods of New York—from Staten Island to the Lower East Side—I’ve always been inspired by the diverse stories and voices that shape our world.

My goal as an actor is to tell stories of life, love, defiance, and joy on film, television, and stage. For example, American Fiction, Moonlight, Brokeback Mountain, After Life, Only Murders In The Building, Bridgerton, Wit. I would give up my bidet toilet to play the American Inspector Ellis.

My most recent work includes being a lead character (and writer) for the TV mini-series Coronaville, now streaming on Prime TV (US and UK), and performing in the Folger Theater’s production of Amadeus, directed by Richard Clifford.

I completed the Studio Acting Conservatory three-year curriculum and have continued with private coaches in-studio and online. I have completed undergraduate and graduate studies in journalism, philosophy, and public policy at New York University, The George Washington University, Antioch University, and The University of Maryland. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, retired professional risk management consultant, and world traveler. My extensive toolbox gives me a plethora of experiences to tap into for a wide spectrum of roles.

As a writer, I’m particularly excited about a feature screenplay I’ve written, Old Flames, about the loves, lusts, and fears of a woman who reunites with an old lover as she comes to the end of her life. It’s currently on the festival circuit and so far has been awarded Best Screenplay, Best First Time Screenplay Writer, and has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Nashville Film Festival and the Atlanta International Film Festival. My hope is to tell this story with a diverse cast that will speak to a diverse and aging audience. Stay tuned!

Uta Hagen once said, “Since the time of the ancient Greeks a democracy has depended on its philosophers and creative artists….Because the artist can arouse the curiosity and conscience of his community, he becomes a threat to those who have taken power.” This sentiment resonates deeply with me and fuels my commitment to stories that challenge, inspire, and provoke thought and action.

I’m eager to continue exploring stories that make a difference and contribute to a more just and creative world. If you share my vision of using the arts to spark curiosity and conscience, I’d love to collaborate. Let’s create something meaningful together!
